Since then Steph has established practices in Redhill and Ashtead, undertaken post graduate study in China and in specialist areas such as fertility and chronic pain. Steph runs an acupuncture clinic at the East Surrey Cancer Support centre attached to East Surrey Hospital, providing acupuncture for people undergoing cancer treatment, recovering from cancer and supporting their families and careers.
Acupuncture – What is it?
Acupuncture with a fully qualified practitioner is one of the safest and longest established forms of healthcare. It is suitable for people of all ages, pregnant women and children, and can be used effectively alongside conventional medicine. An acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body.
Treatment is specific to you and following a detailed consultation covering your symptoms and every aspect of your health and lifestyle, a diagnosis will be made to determine the combination of points best suited to you.
An acupuncture treatment can include other ancillary techniques such as Tui na massage, cupping, electroacupuncture with a TENS machine and warming of points and areas using a heat lamp or a smoking herb known as moxa.
